Prior to the VIctorian era, most women just wore their finest gown on their wedding day - typically not white. But when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert, she had the idea of promoting the English lace industry through her fashion, and chose a white lace gown for the big day. From there, the tradition of wearing white took off. Honoring this bit of fashion history is not only a fantastic nod to history, but simply a gorgeous way of breaking tradition, even if that tradition is somewhat new!
